Maxwell-Hydrodynamic Model for Simulating Nonlinear Terahertz Generation from Plasmonic Metasurfaces [PDF]
The interaction between the electromagnetic field and plasmonic nanostructures leads to both the strong linear response and inherent nonlinear behavior.

Electromagnetic and gravitational responses of photonic Landau levels [PDF]
Topology has recently become a focus in condensed matter physics, arising in the context of the quantum Hall effect and topological insulators. In both of these cases, the topology of the system is defined through bulk properties ('topological invariants') but detected through surface properties.

Large Horizontal Near-Field Scanner Based on a Non-Tethered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
A horizontal planar scanner with an approximate size of 40 m $\times40$ m has been implemented using the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology. The UAV is not wired to the ground to maintain the flexibility and short setup time of a non-tethered ...

Electromagnetically induced transparency and photon-photon interactions with Rydberg atoms [PDF]
We discuss electromagnetically induced transparency in a cold ensemble of atoms optically excited to the Rydberg states. Strong dipole-dipole or van der Waals interactions between the atomic Rydberg states translate into large nonlocal nonlinearities for a propagating probe field.

Applications of Graphene at Microwave Frequencies [PDF]
In view to the epochal scenarios that nanotechnology discloses, nano-electronics has the potential to introduce a paradigm shift in electronic systems design similar to that of the transition from vacuum tubes to semiconductor devices.

Features of excited fields in a cavity resonator filled with a near-zero refractive index medium
Background. Modern artificial media are capable of providing specially pointed electromagnetic parameters, such as a negative refractive index, or a near-zero refractive index.

Experimental observation of Weyl points [PDF]
In 1929, Hermann Weyl derived the massless solutions from the Dirac equation - the relativistic wave equation for electrons. Neutrinos were thought, for decades, to be Weyl fermions until the discovery of the neutrino mass.

Programmable VO2 metasurface for terahertz wave beam steering
Summary: Programmable vanadium dioxide (VO2) metasurface is proposed at THz frequencies. The insulating and metallic states of VO2 can be switched via external electrical stimulation, resulting in the dynamical modulation of electromagnetic response. The
