Space-Time Structure and Electromagnetism
Two Lagrangian functions are used to construct geometric field theories. One of these Lagrangians depends on the curvature of space, while the other depends on curvature and torsion. It is shown that the theory constructed from the first Lagrangian gives

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.

Free‐standing plasmonic gold‐based fractal antennas are fabricated by 3D nanoprinting, employing focused electron beam induced deposition and an optimized purification method to remove carbon while conserving structural fidelity. Simulation and experiment show broadband plasmonic activity, including customizable polarizability, thereby paving the way ...

A novel technique for designing balanced-to-balanced diplexers with enhanced common-mode rejection is presented. In this approach, the conventional T-junction typically used to feed the diplexer output channels is replaced by a pair of over-coupled H ...

High frequency electrical oscillations in cavities
If the interior of a conducting cavity (such as a capacitor or a coaxial cable) is supplied with a very high-frequency electric signal, the information between the walls propagates with an appreciable delay, due to the finiteness of the speed of light ...

Controlling Electromagnetic Fields
Using the freedom of design that metamaterials provide, we show how electromagnetic fields can be redirected at will and propose a design strategy. The conserved fields—electric displacement field D , magnetic induction field B , and Poynting vector B —are all ...

Heterogeniety in electrochemical systems heavily influences device performance and durability. The study shows unique evidence of spatio‐operational heterogeneity in fuel cells via operando neutron and X‐ray tomography. Large variations in membrane thickness and hydration depend upon location and operating conditions, with implications on membrane ...
