Why Is the Mechanism Underlying the Chiral‐Induced Selectivity Effect Still Challenging?
The chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect is observed in many experimental configurations and for different materials. However, there are theoretical challenges in attempting to explain those results. A qualitative framework for explaining all the results is presented.

The Ontology of Electromagnetism
Electromagnetism is usually understood as a theory describing how charged particles and eletromagnetic fields interact. In this paper I argue that a double ontology comprising both particles and fields is problematic.

Electromagnetic Radiation* [PDF]
Electromagnetic radiation, commonly referred to as light, underpins all spectroscopic techniques, ranging from the highly energetic gamma rays, through x-rays, ultraviolet, visible, infrared, microwaves to the low-energy radio waves. The principles of wave- and particle-like behaviour determine the nature of the radiation and its interaction with ...

Compact Matryoshka DGS Using Dielectric Resonator
In this paper, a compact matryoshka DGS using dielectric resonator (DR) is proposed. Despite the use of dielectric resonators to obtain band-stop frequency response not being a new idea, the proposed compact matryoshka DGS is an original contribution ...

Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...
