Formation of Laser‐Induced Periodic Surface Structures on Titanium Alloy Using a Picosecond Laser: Dependence on Fluence and Number of Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Laser treatment of materials is a versatile technique for generating ordered surface structures. Nevertheless, such structures are the result of laser parameters such as laser pulse fluence. We demonstrate that homogeneous low special frequency laser‐induced periodic surface structures are contingent on both single and effective fluence dose and can be

Laminated Multilayer Optical Waveguides Enabled by Floating Film Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A scalable floating film transfer process enables the lamination of sub‐micron polymer films into high‐quality multilayer optical waveguides. The method preserves optical performance, allows precise control over layer stacking, and supports the integration of high‐index‐contrast polymer/air gratings for efficient mode coupling in advanced photonic ...

Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy for Chemical Characterization of Complex Oxide Thin Films and Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates how glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy enables rapid, depth‐resolved chemical analysis of complex oxide thin films and interfaces. The study validates its quantitative capability for perovskites and oxygen non‐stoichiometry, benchmarking against state‐of‐the‐art techniques.

Laser‐Synthesized Amorphous PdSe2‐x Nanoparticles: A Defect‐Rich Platform for High‐Efficiency SERS, Photocatalysis, and Photothermal Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. The obtained nanoparticles offer significant advantages over conventional planar plasmon‐free substrates due to

Stabilizing Oxygen Vacancies in Plasmonic WO3‐x Semiconductor Nanosheets via Surface Reconstruction Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study reports a surface reconstruction strategy to stabilize oxygen vacancies in plasmonic WO3‐x nanosheets. By engineering a dense WO3 passivation layer, the authors effectively trap interior vacancies against environmental reoxidation. This architecture preserves strong localized surface plasmon resonance effects, resulting in significantly ...
