Direct Ink Writing of Conductive Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the use of direct ink writing (DIW) for fabricating conductive hydrogels with customizable 3D structures. It outlines the rheological requirements for successful DIW, followed by an exploration of the materials and ink formulations used to impart electronic and/or ionic conductivity to hydrogels while maintaining printability ...

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

Design of Broadband Aperture-Coupled Microstrip Antenna Arrays With Differential Feeding

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes the design of broadband microstrip antennas fed by differential microstrip lines. The designed broadband antennas are composed of two capacitively coupled rectangular stacked patches excited through a dog-bone shaped aperture by short-

Achievable Transverse Cylindrical Electromagnetic Mode [PDF]

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research Letters, Vol. 24, 59-68, 2011, 2011
The system of Maxwell equations with an initial condition in a vacuum is solved in a cylindrical coordinate system. It derives the cylindrical transverse electromagnetic wave mode in which the electric field and magnetic field are not in phase. Such electromagnetic wave can generate and exist in actual application, and there is no violation of the law ...

Electromagnetism and semantics [PDF]

open access: yesIEE Proceedings A (Physical Science, Measurement and Instrumentation, Management and Education), 1988
The terminology still in common use by many writers on electromagnetic topics is unconsciously related to the original Maxwell ether model, which gives the E, D, B and H vectors equal status as a set of four fundamental field quantities. Maxwell's equations are usually presented in terms of all four quantities, together with the ‘constitutive ...

Internal Temperature Evolution Metrology and Analytics in Li‐Ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the non‐linear evolution of internal temperatures across diverse operating conditions, highlighting the disparities between internal and external measurements and the resulting thermal asymmetries. The coupled thermo‐electrochemical modeling framework provides a comprehensive analysis of various heat generation modes, examining ...

Surface Plasmon Polaritons Excited By Electromagnetic Waves Under General Boundary Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We investigate single interface surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) excited by electromagnetic waves under general electromagnetic boundary conditions that allow for non-zero surface charge and surface current densities. Incorporating these, we derive general conditions for single interface SPPs and solve both the surface source distributions and the ...

Conducting Polymer Microelectrode Arrays for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Advanced Brain Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible micro‐electrocorticography array with PEDOT:SS electrodes is shown to be compatible with ultra‐high magnetic field MRI up to 9.4 T. Multimodal brain monitoring is demonstrated by performing simultaneous blood oxygen level‐dependent functional MRI in parallel with electrophysiology.

Learning about the QCD medium using electromagnetic and weak probes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Recent theoretical developments concerning radiation of electromagnetic and weak probes in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is overviewed. These proceedings focus on electromagnetic probes and briefly cover weak probes. An outlook regarding the future use of electromagnetic probes is formulated whereby a quantitative Bayesian comparison ...
