Current-oscillator correlation and Fano factor spectrum of quantum shuttle with finite bias voltage and temperature

open access: yes, 2012
A general master equation is derived to describe an electromechanical single-dot transistor in the Coulomb blockade regime. In the equation, Fermi distribution functions in the two leads are taken into account, which allows one to study the system as a ...

Hierarchical Multi‐Material Architectures With Gradient Design for Dynamic‐Range Flexible Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Sound propagation in density wave conductors and the effect of long-range Coulomb interaction

open access: yes, 1995
We study theoretically the sound propagation in charge- and spin-density waves in the hydrodynamic regime. First, making use of the method of comoving frame, we construct the stress tensor appropriate for quasi-one dimensional systems within tight ...

Morphology‐Driven Electromechanical Performance of Graphene‐Based Electrofluids for Emerging Soft Electronic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Here, two types of electronic components are presented: a strain sensor and a stable resistor. Electrofluids properties are tuned to match these behaviors by selecting the type of filler. We show that the morphology of the filler together with its oxygen content are the key parameters to create electrical and mechanical networks with distinct responses.

Galinstan Liquid Metal/Polyurethane Composite as a Multifunctional Stretchable Electrode and Piezoresistive Strain Sensor With Minimal Drift

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Liquid metal additives are processed in elastomer host resulting in highly conductive and stretchable composites. The material functions as a piezoresistive sensor with minimal drift, low stiffness, and enhanced operating range. The film can replace wires to charge a mobile phone at ∼350% strain and monitors bodily motion in real‐time via a portable ...

Stress‐Normalized Sensitivity as a Comparative Benchmark for Intrinsically Piezoresistive Nanocomposite Materials in Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A stress‐normalised sensitivity metric (S = G/Y) is introduced as a materials‐level benchmark for intrinsically piezoresistive nanocomposites. By decoupling electromechanical response (G) from stiffness (Y), the framework enables direct comparison across diverse systems and clarifies design trade‐offs for wearable sensors.

Power harvesting in a helicopter lag damper [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper a new power harvesting application is developed and simulated. Power harvesting is chosen within the European Clean Sky project as a solution to powering in-blade health monitoring systems as opposed to installing an elaborate electrical ...

Inherent Mach-Zehnder interference with "which-way" detection for single particle scattering in one dimension

open access: yes, 2011
We study the coherent transport of single photon in a one-dimensional coupled-resonator-array, "non-locally" coupled to a two-level system. Since its inherent structure is a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, we explain the destructive interference phenomenon ...

Coupled Electromechanical Optimization of Power Transmission Lines

open access: yesComputer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, 2008
This paper presents a multidisciplinary design and optimization method of power transmission lines. This optimization method solves both mechanical and electrical problems by a new strongly coupled method that also optimizes the potential designs using a genetic algorithm.

Microstructured Electrode‐Piezopolymer Interface for Ultrasound Transducers With Enhanced Flexibility and Acoustic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible piezopolymer ultrasound transducers are engineered by tailoring the electrode–piezopolymer interface using metallic, flake‐based, and porous graphene electrodes. Laser‐induced graphene's porous structure enables polymer infiltration, strengthening interfacial coupling and enhancing piezoelectric response and acoustic output.
