Electrostatic Transport Characteristics of Olivine Particles under Electron Irradiation in Vacuum

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Electrostatic dust transport on airless planetary bodies, such as the Moon, plays a crucial role in shaping their surface environment and influencing the evolution of surface materials.

Unusual Temperature‐Enhanced Bulk Photovoltaic Effect Beyond the Centrosymmetric Phase in CuCrP2S6 van der Waals Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Contrary to conventional expectations, the bulk photovoltaic effect in CuCrP2S6 is enhanced rather than suppressed upon transitioning into the crystallographically centrosymmetric phase. Dynamic Cu‐ion disorder creates transient polar states, which substantially amplifies zero‐bias photocurrent (shift‐current) generation, establishing dynamic symmetry ...

Electron-impact dissociative excitation cross sections for singlet states of molecular hydrogen

open access: yes, 2018
We report cross sections for electron-impact dissociative excitation of the B 1 Σ + u , C 1 Π u , D 1 Π u , B ′ 1 Σ + u , and E , F 1 Σ + g singlet states of molecular hydrogen from all v i = 0 – 14 vibrational levels of the ground X 1 Σ + g ...

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Calculation of the relativistic rise in electron-impact-excitation cross sections for highly charged ions

open access: yes, 2013
Exact relativistic plane-wave Born (RPWB) matrix elements of the Møller interaction are incorporated in the “analytic Born subtraction technique” and employed in the relativistic convergent close-coupling method.

Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.

Broadband Silicon‐On‐Glass Reflective Dielectric Metasurface for THz Beam Steering in 6G Wireless Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐compatible, all‐dielectric Silicon‐on‐Glass reflective metasurface enables low–loss terahertz wavefront control for future 6G wireless communication. Mie‐resonant silicon pillars provide full phase coverage near 500 GHz, achieving experimentally validated single‐, dual‐, and five‐beam steering with sub‐1.5° angular error and less than 3 dB ...

Self‐Assembled Lipids as Soft Dielectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled lipid bilayers serve as soft dielectric materials for ultrathin electronics. Using liquid‐metal parallel‐plate junctions, the capacitance and dielectric breakdown of dehydrated lipid films are characterized. Dielectric behavior is controlled by lipid molecular structure, cholesterol content, and assembly conditions, providing molecular ...

Spatially Regulated Lithium Plating via Li2O‐Rich Interphase Enables Durable Fast‐Charging Hybrid Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Li2O‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is engineered on graphite through a propylene carbonate‐based electrolyte to spatially regulate Li plating. The homogeneous interphase lowers Li nucleation barriers, promotes conformal Li deposition around graphite particles, and suppresses dendritic accumulation, enabling durable hybrid Li‐ion/Li‐metal ...
