Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A novel organic dianion, N,N'-Disulfo-1,4-benzoquinonediimine (1) has been prepared, which is a strong electron acceptor. The reduction potential of the PPh4 salt indicates that 1 is a stronger acceptor than DDQ (2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone)

Isolation and characterization of Alicycliphilus denitrificans strain BC, which grows on benzene with chlorate as the electron acceptor [PDF]
A bacterium, strain BC, was isolated from a benzene-degrading chlorate-reducing enrichment culture. Strain BC degrades benzene in conjunction with chlorate reduction.

Characteristic Activity Parameters of Electron Donors and Electron Acceptors
It is well-known that for an electron transfer reaction, the electron-donating ability of electron donors and the electron-accepting ability of electron acceptors can be quantitatively described by the oxidation potential of electron donors and the reduction potential of electron acceptors.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Photoinduced Coupling of Acetylenes and Quinone in the Solid State as Preorganized Donor−Acceptor Pairs [PDF]
Crystalline electron donor−acceptor (EDA) complexes of various diarylacetylenes (DA) and dichlorobenzoquinone (DB) are isolated and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.

Multi-Channel Electron Transfer Reactions: An Analytically Solvable Model
We propose an analytical method for understanding the problem of multi-channel electron transfer reaction in solution, modeled by a particle undergoing diffusive motion under the influence of one donor and several acceptor potentials.

Single exciton spectroscopy of single-Mn doped InAs quantum dots [PDF]
The optical spectroscopy of a single InAs quantum dot doped with a single Mn atom is studied using a model Hamiltonian that includes the exchange interactions between the spins of the quantum dot electron-hole pair, the Mn atom and the acceptor hole. Our

Patatin domain‐containing (phospho)lipases are lipid‐hydrolyzing enzymes central to metabolism, membrane remodeling, and signaling. Their activity relies on precise co‐activation mechanisms involving protein–protein interactions and conformational rearrangements.
