Impacts of RMP toroidal phase on ELM mitigation and impurity control in EAST

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
An integrated modeling study, coupling the MARS-F code with the EMC3-EIRENE code, has been performed to examine the impacts of the toroidal phase (Δ φ ) of resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) on edge-localized mode (ELM) mitigation and impurity control ...

Comparative measurement of plasma potential with tube probe and Langmuir probe

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Plasma potential measurements using the conventional Langmuir probe may cause an error due to the space charge effect. To solve the problem, a tube probe is proposed in this study which can minimize the space charge effect by collecting electrons with an

Controlling Grain Growth in Powder Bed Fusion of Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia Using Femtosecond Lasers: Challenges and Methodological Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Binder‐free laser powder bed fusion of 8YSZ with a femtosecond laser is used to map process windows linking scan strategy, heat accumulation, and grain growth. Time‐resolved thermography and simulations reveal thermal regimes that enable continuous, vitrified, and fine‐grained 8YSZ surface layers without absorptive additives and demonstrate ...

A Computer Study of Electron-Electron Interaction in high Density Electron Beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
High density electron beams are simulated by a computer, and the trajectory displacement and energy broadening caused by electron-electron interaction are investigated computationally.

Simulation‐Based Analysis of Insert Pull‐Out in Nickel‐Polyurethane Hybrid Foams Using CT‐Derived Geometries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
CT‐based finite element simulations combined with in situ X‐ray computed tomography are used to analyze insert pull‐out in nickel‐coated polymer foams. Despite variations in material parameters, deformation consistently concentrates within a narrow annular region around the insert.

Ti-Al-Ta alloy for fuel cell bipolar plates with low contact resistance

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
Titanium and titanium alloys with surface-prepared coatings have excellent overall performance as bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cells, but the bare plates will form passivation films with poor electrical conductivity during service ...

Influence of section depth on the structural behaviour of reinforced concrete continuous deep beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
YesAlthough the depth of reinforced concrete deep beams is much higher than that of slender beams, extensive existing tests on deep beams have focused on simply supported beams with a scaled depth below 600 mm.

Investigating the Low‐Temperature Phase Stability of the Binary Ta–W System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Atomistic simulations show that the binary Ta–W system forms ordered intermetallic phases, B2‐TaW and D03‐TaW3, as 0 K ground states. Configurational entropy, however, lowers the free energy of the disordered bcc solid solution, which becomes the stable phase above about 400 K.

High‐Entropy Alloy Interlayers Toward Advanced Joining for High‐Performance Structural Applications: Current Progress and Emerging Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
HEA interlayers offer a versatile route for joining high‐performance structural materials. Their compositional and structural design regulates interfacial reactions, suppresses brittle IMCs, and improves metallurgical bonding. Sandwich interlayers further integrate defect healing with precipitation strengthening, enabling improved strength–ductility ...

Laser generated 300 keV electron beams from water

open access: yes, 2011
in Undetermined 300 keV electron beams with energy peaked in the range 280–390 keV were generated by focusing a high contrast ratio but temporally double pulsed 800 nm ultrafast laser onto a flowing water jet under both helium atmosphere at ambient ...
