Secondary electron field emission

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1988
Secondary electron field emission (SEFE) is based on Fowler-Nordheim tunneling from conducting substrates into thin insulating layers due to their strongly positive charging-up during electron bombardment. This self-consistent charging-up process is demonstrated by a computer simulation.

Secondary-Electron Emission

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1968
The secondary-emission process, which is fundamental to photomultipliers used in scintillation counters, can be considered to consist of three physical processes: (1) excitation of secondary electrons, (2) transport of these electrons through the solid, and (3) transport through the vacuum-solid interface.

Electron emission noise

Surface Science, 1988
Abstract Traced back to the early discoveries by Schottky and Johnson, a review will be given on the present state of electron emission noise phenomena and related fluctuations. Special emphasis is laid upon adsorbate induced noise under UHV conditions which can be investigated, at least in principle, down to single adparticle fluctuations.

Secondary Electron—Electron Emission

1969
The secondary electron emission of metals under the influence of electrons, first discovered by Austin and Starke [5] in 1902, has taken on considerable practical importance in recent years.

Thermionic Electron Emission*

Bell System Technical Journal, 1935
There have appeared in the Reviews of Modem Physics two excellent summaries on thermionic emission, one by Compton and Langmuir1 and one by Dushman.2 Compton and Lan gmuir, while dealing primarily with discharge in gases, also discussed many phases of thermionic emission. Dushman's article is a comprehensive review on thermionics.
