42.3: An Electron Gun with Gun Pitch Modulation

SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers, 2001
Abstract Philips Cybertubes use virtual Gun Pitch Modulation (GPM) in the Deflection Unit. Realizing GPM in the gun itself can make the system more compact and more cost effective. The beam deviation is achieved either by electric field variations induced by a dynamic voltage inside the gun or by a magnetic field induced outside the ...

Electronic gun (TaserĀ®) injuries

Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1987
The Taser is an electrical weapon used for immobilization. Two hundred eighteen patients who were shot by police with a Taser for violent or criminal behavior were compared to 22 similar patients shot by police with .38 Specials. The long-term morbidity rate was significantly different for "tasered" victims (0%) and for those with bullet wounds (50 ...

Trajectory Plotting in Electron Guns

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1959
A method of representing space charge on a resistance network analogue by means of leak resistances is described and applied to the determination of trajectories in several conventional and unconventional electron ...

Electronics and The Gun Environment

Ferroelectrics, 2006
Current advances in gun launched projectiles demand the incorporation of on board electronics. These on board electronics consist of both conventional ceramic and plastic encapsulated components as well as Micro-Electronic-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS). The materials used in all of these devices are usually brittle in nature and contain coatings that are ...

Electron Gun Technology

1976
Abstract : The first gun developed was the plasma cathode electron gun. The electron source in this device is a plasma generated within a low-voltage, hollow-cathode discharge; a thermionic emitter is not required. Electrons extracted from the plasma pass through a triode-type control grid structure and are accelerated to high energies in a plasma-free

High resolution electron gun

1959 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1959
A high-demagnification electron gun with a small spot size was developed by deflecting the electron beam before it enters a large focusing lens. The pre-focusing deflection allows close spacing between the focusing lens and the tube screen. The diameter of the focusing lens is large compared with the beam deflection to keep spot distortion at a minimum.

The multipactor electron gun

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1969
An electron source based on the multipactoring principle and preliminary experimental results are described. Several uses of such a gun are suggested.

Theory of Electron Gun

Proceedings of the IRE, 1934
The function of the electron gun irrespective of the purpose for which the cathode ray tube is used is to generate, to concentrate, to control, and to focus an electron beam to a spot of a desired size. This paper describes the theory of the above-mentioned functions.

Electron guns for spacecraft

Cosmic Research, 2013
Studies of three versions of electron guns (0.3 kV, 0.14 A; 20 kV, 0.1 A; 40 kV, 0.05 A) intended to operate aboard spacecraft during various space experiments are presented. The computer simulation results of electron-optical systems are given, the optimization of cathode-heating units and heat removal system are performed, circuit design of the gun ...
