Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Electron impact induced dissociation of N2H+ into NH+
Dissociative excitation of N2H+ has been investigated in the energy range from 7.5 to 2500 eV using a crossed beams apparatus. Absolute cross sections are reported for the channel leading to NH+ formation.

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Resonances in electron-impact electron detachment of C2-.
Molecular R-matrix with pseudostate calculations are reported for the electron-impact ionization cross section of the carbon dimer anion. A (1)Sigma_(g)(+) resonance is found near the detachment threshold and two further resonances, of (3)Pi_(g) and (1)Pi_(g) symmetry, are found near 10 eV close to the structures observed experimentally.

Single particle electron microscopy [PDF]
Electron microscopy (EM) in combination with image analysis is a powerful technique to study protein structures at low, medium, and high resolution. Since electron micrographs of biological objects are very noisy, improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio
