Mixing of a heavy neutrino with the electron neutrino

Physical Review D, 1985
We show that recent monojet searches in electron-positron annihilation experiments can be used to extend significantly the limits on the mixing of a massive fourth-generation neutrino with the electron neutrino. When combined with other limits from hadron decays and secondary-vertex searches in hadron and electron-positron annihilation experiments ...

Electron-Neutrino and Electron-Antineutrino Scattering

Physical Review, 1960
Cross sections for electron-neutrino and electronantineutrino scattering are given as a function of recoil electron energy, averaged over a reactor spectrum of antineutrinos. (auth)

Atmospheric neutrinos: Muon and electron neutrinos problem

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1996
This talk discusses the low ratio of muons to electrons in neutrino interactions detected in large underground detectors. This ratio, lower by 4σ from the theoretical predictions, has led to interpretations in terms of important phyisical processes such as neutrino oscillations.

Neutrino-electron scattering and solar neutrino experiments

Reviews of Modern Physics, 1987
Neutrino-electron scattering experiments can elucidate the flavor content, spectrum shape, intensity, time dependence, and angular distribution of solar neutrinos. The author presents detailed calculations for all of the important solar neutrino sources of the predicted energy and angular dependence of the recoil electrons, as well as the total cross ...

The neutrino electron accelerator

Physics of Plasmas, 1998
It is shown that a wake of electron plasma oscillations can be created by the nonlinear ponderomotive force of an intense neutrino flux. The electrons trapped in the plasma wakefield will be accelerated to high energies. Such processes may be important in supernovas and pulsars.

Neutrino transport with isoenergetic and neutrino-electron scattering

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1981
Solution to steady-state, bigroup neutrino transport with isoenergetic and neutrino-electron scattering have been obtained for idealized conditions representative of the outer core or envelope of a star whose inner core is undergoing gravitational collapse. The solutions are presented in a form suitable for comparison with other numerical schemes.

Direct neutrino-mass measurement based on 259 days of KATRIN data.

Science
That neutrinos carry a nonvanishing rest mass is evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model of elementary particles. Their absolute mass holds relevance in fields from particle physics to cosmology.

Interaction of massive neutrinos with electrons

Physical Review D, 1989
We have investigated the process ${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{H}$e\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{L}$e in which heavy neutrinos interact with electrons and convert to massless neutrinos. In principle the process could be used to investigate primordial nonzero-mass neutrinos.

Electron Correlations and Solar Neutrino Counts

Nature, 1970
EXPERIMENTS to detect the neutrino flux from the Sun could be used to test the basic hypotheses concerning the internal constitution of the Sun and the nuclear fusion reactions believed to be occurring in its interior. The measurements of Davis, Harmer and Hoffmann1 give an upper bound on the neutrino counting rate which is approximately half of the ...

Oscillation searches via neutrino-electron scattering

Physical Review D, 1987
The effect of neutrino flavor oscillations on neutrino-electron scattering is examined. A proposed LAMPF experiment designed to determine sin/sup 2/theta/sub W/ to +- 0.002 via a measurement of R'equivalentsigma(..nu../sub ..mu../e)/(sigma(..nu../sub e/e)+sigma(nu-bar/sub ..mu../e) is shown to probe ..nu../sub ..mu../-..nu../sub e/ oscillations with ...
