Electron optical experiments with a magnetic imaging filter

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1978
In the CTEM, imaging filter systems consisting of several magnetic prisms permit the removal of inelastically scattered electrons. Such systems transfer the diffraction plane and the intermediate image stigmatically. A prerequisite for a singly achromatic imaging is that the filter produces a radial intermediate image in its plane of symmetry. The ...

Towards An Optical/Electronic Hybrid Image Processor

Topical Meeting on Optical Computing, 1987
This paper describes work directed at utilising the parallel processing power of relatively simple analogue optical systems, to improve the capability, compactness and cost of machine vision systems. We are investigating methods which allow the combination of the best features of both electronic and optical systems in such a way that the control and ...

On the calculation of electron optical high resolution images

Ultramicroscopy, 1979
In this paper a contribution to the analytical and numerical treatment of the election optical imaging is given, valid for the conditions of the Fresnel approximation. The concept of transmission and propagation functions is used according to the successive steps of the optical imaging process.

Optic-electronic processing of ball elements images

2017 18th International Conference of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices (EDM), 2017
The purpose of the current paper is to validate experimentally the possibility to combine optical and computer methods for image processing. The X-ray imaging is one of the most efficient methods for inspection of the nuclear fuel elements (NFE). X-rays pass through the inspected object and cause various degrees darkening of the film placed behind the ...

Fresnel optics and optical systems for terahertz imaging at free electron lasers

2007 Joint 32nd International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves and the 15th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2007
We have developed reflective diffraction optical elements (DOE) for focusing radiation of terahertz free electron lasers (FEL). Metal-dielectric Fresnel zone plates and metallic kinoform "lens" for focusing radiation at the right angle were fabricated and tested using FEL radiation. Diffraction efficiency of the kinoform lens appears to be about unity.

Electron optical image correction subsystem in electron beam projection lithography

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing, Measurement, and Phenomena, 2000
To obtain ultimate image fidelity in the PREVAIL electron beam projection lithography system (EB stepper) [Pfeiffer et al., J. Vac. Sci. Technol. B 17, 2840 (1999)], precise dynamic corrections [Zhu et al., Proc. SPIE 2522, 66 (1995)] of an exposed reticle subfield image on the wafer are required.

Electronic image stabilization using optical flow with inertial fusion

2010 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2010
When a camera is affixed on a dynamic mobile robot, image stabilization is the first step towards more complex analysis on the video feed. This paper presents a novel electronic image stabilization (EIS) algorithm for highly dynamic mobile robotic platforms. The algorithm combines optical flow motion parameter estimation with angular rate data provided

Acousto-optic processing with electronic image feedback for morphological filtering

Applied Optics, 1992
An optical morphological processor is described and demonstrated in which the structuring element is generated by means of an acousto-optic cell in the Fourier plane of a coherent optical correlator. A magneto-optic spatial light modulator is employed in the input plane.

Properties of Imaging Electron-optical Systems For Image Tubes

1988
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the properties of imaging electron-optical systems for image tubes. Investigation of the electron-optical characteristics of high-resolution vacuum devices such as image converters and image intensifiers plays an important role in improving the performance of these devices.

Image formation in optical and electron transmission microscopy

Journal of Microscopy, 1974
SUMMARYIn this tutorial article, some basic concepts of image formation in conventional transmission microscopy are reviewed, particular attention being given to the meaning and role of partial coherence. The application of these ideas to scanning transmission microscopy is also discussed.
