Image formation in optical and electron transmission microscopy

Journal of Microscopy, 1974
SUMMARYIn this tutorial article, some basic concepts of image formation in conventional transmission microscopy are reviewed, particular attention being given to the meaning and role of partial coherence. The application of these ideas to scanning transmission microscopy is also discussed.

Analog-digital electronic stabilization of optical image

Lens and Optical Systems Design, 1993
The sensitivity of electro-optical Earth surveillance systems within visual and near-IR bands is provided with the charge accumulation process in CCD matrices as image receivers. Efficiency of that process is affected by irregular image movement caused mostly by linear and angular fluctuations of an airplane or a space vehicle on the flight trajectory.

STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF AN IMAGE BY AN OPTICAL-ELECTRONIC SYSTEM

Journal scientific and applied research, 2013
Some interrelations of two-dimensional image of optic electronic devices are developed in this paper. The informativity of the object image is investigated through the use of multi spectral optic system, limited by aberrations.

Electron-optical Transfer Functions of Image Intensifies

1972
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses electron-optical transfer functions (e.t.f.) of image intensifiers. It expresses the on-axis electron-optical image quality of image intensifiers in terms of the e.t.f., the Fourier transform of the point-spread function.

Emission-Imaging Electron-Optical System Design

1990
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the mathematical and software support for the computer-aided design (CAD) system of emission-imaging electron-optical systems (EOS). Computer-aided design is based on mathematical simulation that combines algorithmic, programming, and hardware tools to provide a deeper insight into the objective properties and

I Optical and Electronic Processing of Medical Images

1985
Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the optical and electronic processing of medical images with special emphasis on the optical methods, although digital and electronic procedures are also mentioned. The enhancing of obtained images may be done by means of image processing methods, whose general theoretical possibilities are considered.
