Electron-Positron Colliding Beam Experiments

Physical Review, 1961
Possible experiments with high-energy colliding beams of electrons and positrons are discussed. The role of the proposed two-pion resonance and of the three-pion resonance or bound state is investigated in connection with electron-positron annihilation into pions.

The physics of electron-positron colliding beams

Physics Reports, 1977
Abstract The experimental and theoretical aspects of e+e− storage rings physics are reviewed. After a short description of existing machines, experimental methods and the main features of the detectors are discussed. A section is then devoted to pure QED reactions and the question of radiative corrections.

Investigation of the ϱ-meson resonance with electron-positron colliding beams

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1967
Abstract Preliminary results on the determination of the position and shape of the ϱ-meson resonance with electron-positron colliding beams are presented.

Synchrobetatron sideband overlap in electron‐positron colliding beams

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1987
The detrimental influence of synchrobetatron sidebands on beam integrity is quantitatively estimated using analytic techniques. The treatment includes both the horizontal and vertical betatron oscillations and takes into account the sidebands of both parametric and coupling resonances.

CESR - An Electron Positron Colliding Beam Facility at Cornell

Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1977
A proposal to modify the Cornell 12 GeV electron synchrotron facility to produce colliding beams of electrons and positrons was submitted to the National Science Foundation in May 1975. Subsequently, approval for design and prototype work was given and funding for the project is being requested by the NSF.
