Kinetic Study of Atmospheric Pressure Nitrogen Plasma Afterglow Using Quantitative Electron Spin Resonance Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2017
Quantitative electron spin resonance spectroscopy is used to measure nitrogen atom density in atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge afterglow. The experiment shows that oxygen injection into early afterglow increases the nitrogen dissociation

One‐Dimensional Materials Supported in Two‐Dimensional Van der Waals Metal–Organic Frameworks with Optical Anisotropy Switching via Twist‐Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...

Ultra‐Confinement of Polaritons in Single Atomic Layer Ag Photonic Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Strong confinement of surface phonon polaritons of silicon carbide was achieved in photonic quantum dots fabricated from van der Waals heterostructure of epitaxial graphene over single‐atomic layer silver. Scattering‐type scanning near‐field optical microscopy combined with an analytical approach, developed to reveal local propagation constants with ...

Nitroxides in Mechanistic Studies: Ageing of Gold Nanoparticles and Nitroxide Transformation in Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The work described in this thesis includes the applications of nitroxide in the mechanistic studies of two very different research topics. Chapter 2 describes the investigation of ageing of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and its mechanistic implications.

Study on the application of three-dimensional arterial spin labeling in diagnosis of viral encephalitis

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2018
Objective To evaluate the role of three-dimensional arterial spin labeling (3D-ASL) in the diagnosis of viral encephalitis. Methods MRI [T1WI, T2WI, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and 3D-ASL] was performed in 41 patients with clinically diagnosed ...

Solvent‐Mediated Reactivity Control of Lewis‐Paired Dopants as a Versatile Strategy for Tunable and Stable Doping of Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent‐mediated reactivity control of Lewis‐paired dopants enables highly efficient, finely tunable, and stable doping of organic semiconductors. The optimally doped semiconductor films exhibit superior thermoelectric performance and doping stability, feature delocalized polarons along structurally ordered polymer backbones, and outperform ...

Thermodynamic Limits to Molecular Doping in Conjugated Polymers: A Perspective on Phase Behavior and Miscibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Spin resonance spectroscopy with a transmission electron microscope [PDF]

open access: yes
Introduction Coherent spin resonance methods such as nuclear magnetic resonance and electron spin resonance spectroscopy have led to spectrally highly sensitive, non-invasive quantum imaging techniques. However, despite their spectral sensitivity, these

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...
