An electronic temperature controller

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1953
An instrument is described in which a thermistor, immersed in the fluid system to be controlled, is connected in an a.c. Wheatstone bridge operated at 50 c/s. An error signal results when the thermistor is not at the required temperature, and is passed, after amplification, to a phasesensitive detector which operates a relay controlling the heating and/

Attaining low electron temperatures in electron coolers

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1996
Some properties of electron coolers relevant to studies of ion‐electron recombination are reviewed. We discuss the influence of the electron temperature on energy resolution and count rates in recombination experiments and how these have been increased by lowering the transverse electron temperature through adiabatic beam expansion.

High-Temperature Electronic Switching

Science, 2010
In electronic circuitry, the band gap of a semi-conductor helps to provide the barrier that keeps charge carriers from flowing until a voltage is applied that switches the device. As temperatures rise, the carriers acquire enough thermal energy to overcome the band gap, causing the device to leak current even when they are turned off.

ELECTRONICS RESEARCH PROGRAM. LOW-TEMPERATURE ELECTRONICS

1963
Abstract : The initial experimental work on the high-field superconducting characteristics has started with an investigation of the effect of grain size on the critical field (H sub c)-critical current (I sub c) relationship. Measurements have been made which show an anomalous behavior of H sub c versus I sub c for a certain range of grain sizes ...
