2D Vermiculite Nanosheets Encapsulated in Hydrogel Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Inhibited Zinc‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network hydrogel was prepared via a one‐pot method, incorporating vermiculite nanosheets as an additive. The negatively charged vermiculite nanosheets not only coordinate with zinc ions to facilitate Zn plating/stripping and suppress Zn dendrite growth, but also adsorb polyiodides to inhibit the shuttle effect, which significantly improves the ...

Opposite Trap‐State Evolution Pathways Govern Endurance and Retention Failure in Amorphous Chalcogenide Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GeSbSe selector‐only memory devices are investigated through physical and electrical analyses to reveal opposite trap‐state evolution pathways governing reliability degradation. Endurance cycling drives Se migration, transitioning traps from deep to shallow states.

Coordination Chemistry of Single‐Atom Catalysts in Expediating Kinetics for Advanced Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the catalytic mechanisms of single‐atom catalysts (SACs) in accelerating lithium polysulfides redox kinetics. Subsequently, the modifications brought by asymmetric coordination chemistry and dual‐atom coordination structures in terms of geometric configuration engineering, molecular orbital hybridization, and interfacial charge ...

Magnetic‐Field‐Tuned Spin‐Dependent D‐Band and Bifunctionality in L10‐FeCoPt for Enhanced Methanol Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The d‐band center and bifunctional mechanism jointly regulate the amounts of adsorbed OH* and CO*, thereby enhancing electrocatalytic performance, while the application of an external magnetic field further boosts this performance. ABSTRACT The spin‐dependent electronic structure of transition‐metal alloys plays a key role in tuning the magnetic‐field ...

Electronic‐State Programming of Ultrasmall CeO2 Switches H2O2 Activation From Radical to Bio‐Inspired Nonradical 1O2 Generation for Combating Antibiotic Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable synthesis of carbon‐supported ultrasmall CeO2 nanoparticles with precisely tunable Ce electron density is reported. Electron‐lean Ce sites activate H2O2 exclusively via a nonradical pathway, enabling efficient HOBr and 1O2 production analogous to bromoperoxidase for contaminant and antibiotic resistance removal.

Excellent Thermoelectric Performance Realized in SnSe Materials via Chemical Bond Tailoring Using GeTe as Molecule Scissors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The GeTe acting as “molecule scissors” can tailor chemical bond, the breaking of Ag‐Se bonds and the formation of Ge‐Se bonds occur in the A‐SnSe matrix, along with the formation of Ag2Se precipitates. This process helps to optimize the thermoelectric properties, and also improves its mechanical properties to a certain extent.
