Simulating the Electronic Structure of Spin Defects on Quantum Computers

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2022
We present calculations of both the ground- and excited-state energies of spin defects in solids carried out on a quantum computer, using a hybrid classical-quantum protocol.

QUANTUM COMPUTATION WITH BALLISTIC ELECTRONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2001
We describe a solid state implementation of a quantum computer using ballistic single electrons as flying qubits in 1D nanowires. We show how to implement all the steps required for universal quantum computation: preparation of the initial state, measurement of the final state and a universal set of quantum gates.

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

A hybrid modified step Whale Optimization Algorithm with Tabu Search for data clustering

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences, 2022
Clustering is a popular data analysis tool that groups similar data objects into disjoint clusters. Clustering algorithms have major drawbacks, such as: sensitivity to initialization and getting trapped in local optima.

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.
