1995German development of metric and decimetric pulsed radars in the mid to late 1930s — early deployment of ship and shore-based systems. In December 1939 Royal Navy ships were not equipped to detect possible German use of radar in Battle of River Plate — nor were RAF aircraft in daylight attacks on German warships.
