Claustrum Volume Is Reduced in Multiple Sclerosis and Predicts Disability

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The claustrum is a small, thin structure of predominantly gray matter with broad connectivity and enigmatic function. Little is known regarding the impact of claustrum pathology in multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods This study assessed whether claustrum volume was reduced in MS and whether reductions were associated with specific ...

Improved electrical ideality and photoresponse in near-infrared phototransistors realized by bulk heterojunction channels

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: The factors that affect the electrical ideality and photoresponse in near-infrared (NIR) organic phototransistors (OPTs) are still nebulous. Here, simultaneous increase in electrical ideality and NIR response in the OPTs is realized by applying ...

Sub- and Supersonic Heat Motion Induced by Femtosecond Laser Pulses [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
In this paper the superheating of electron plasma by femtosecond laser pulses is investigated. With Heaviside thermal equation (Lasers in Engineering, 12, (2002), p.17) the generation of superhot electrons is described. It is shown that in hot electron plasma (i.e. with electron energies >5MeV) the thermal shock waves can be generated.

EEG Spectral Exponents and Visual Chirp Responses Mirror Anti‐Seizure Medication Load in Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Quantitative markers of cortical excitability may help identify responders to anti‐seizure medications (ASMs). We studied the relationship between ASM load and two electroencephalography (EEG) markers of cortical excitability in people with refractory epilepsy. Methods We included individuals with refractory focal epilepsy undergoing
