Transients in Electronic Engineering

Physics Bulletin, 1972
E E Zepler and K G Nichols London: Chapman and Hall 1971 pp ix + 358 price £7 This is an excellent book, thorough and careful in its approach. An introductory chapter on classical, differential equation, techniques of transient analysis is followed by descriptions of the Laplace transform, Fourier methods, and contour integration; more complex circuits

The Future of Electronic Engineering

Proceedings of the IRE, 1946
Engineering proceeds from the simplicity of its early days to the sometimes amazing complexity of its present practices. And important new branches of engineering spring into being to make their contributions to human welfare. There has thus arisen the significant and rapidly developing field of electronic engineering, the future of which is here ...

Engineering limitations with electrons

2008
The vacuum required for electron machines is determined by the beam lifetime and must be in the ultrahigh vacuum range. Since the emission of intense synchrotron radiation by the electron beam produces strong dynamic outgassing from the vacuum chamber, this gas load must be removed by a powerful, distributed pumping system.

Electronics in heavy engineering

Journal of the British Institution of Radio Engineers, 1949
For years after the thermionic valve had been brought to a high state of perfection, and had been the means of achieving literally amazing results in very low-current circuits, neither its designers nor power engineers realized that it was capable of rendering the same services in heavy-current engineering.
