Enhanced perovskite electronic properties via A-site cation engineering

open access: yesFundamental Research, 2021
Organic-inorganic halide perovskites have emerged as excellent candidates for low-cost photovoltaics and optoelectronics. While the predominant recent trend in designing perovskites for efficient and stable solar cells has been to mix different A-site ...

Towards a Security Engineering Process Model for Electronic Business Processes

open access: yes, 2012
Business process management (BPM) and accompanying systems aim at enabling enterprises to become adaptive. In spite of the dependency of enterprises on secure business processes, BPM languages and techniques provide only little support for security ...

Characterizing epithelial‐mesenchymal transition‐linked heterogeneity in breast cancer circulating tumor cells at a single‐cell level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In over 50% of non‐metastatic breast cancer patients, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) along the whole epithelial‐mesenchymal transition spectrum are detected. Total CTC number and individual phenotypes relate to aggressive disease characteristics, including lymph node involvement and higher tumor proliferation. At the single‐cell level, mesenchymal CTCs

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Tin monochalcogenide heterostructures as mechanically rigid infrared bandgap semiconductors

open access: yes, 2018
Based on first-principles density functional calculations, we show that SnS and SnSe layers can form mechanically rigid heterostructures with the constituent puckered or buckled monolayers.

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...
