This article analysis the means of payments known in legal literature under the expressions of fiduciary (fiat) money, scriptural money and electronic money. Conceptualization of the means of payment shall be distinguished from the payment instrument, although both these institutions refer to the same phenomenon, that of money.

A Molecularly Defined Midbrain Circuit Mechanism for Sound‐Driven Defensive Behavior and Anxiety
Schematic diagram showing the Cbln2+ ICx–dPAG circuit for sound‐driven defensive and anxiety‐like behaviors. ABSTRACT The innate defense behaviors in response to threatening sounds play a fundamental role in survival. However, the neural circuits that detect threat‐relevant auditory cues and transform them into defensive behaviors remain poorly defined.

This work presents a multifunctional ionic liquid, [SO3H‐PMIm][OTf], that addresses A‐site cation inhomogeneity and lead toxicity in pure‐iodide wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells. The additive enables homogeneous cation distribution, achieving 22.02% efficiency with 90% retention after 3000 h and reducing lead leakage by over 58%, thereby ...

The effect of transaction pricing on the adoption of electronic payments: a cross-country comparison [PDF]
Pricing should speed up the substitution of low cost electronic payments for expensive paper-based transactions and cash. But by how much? Norway has explicitly priced individual payment transactions and rapidly shifted to electronic payments while the ...

Atomic Scale Control of Thermal Conductivity in LaMnO3/SrMnO3 Superlattices
Interface‐dominated cross‐plane thermal transport in [(LaMnO3)m/(SrMnO3)n]10 superlattices can be controlled by the octahedral rotation/tilt angle φOOR of the MnO6 octahedra, which as well is controlled by the “m/n” ratio. ABSTRACT We report atomic scale structure and phonon thermal transport in (LaMnO3)m/(SrMnO3)n/SrTiO3(100) superlattices (LMO/SMO ...

Efficiency and costs of payments: some new evidence from Finland [PDF]
This paper deals with optimal payment systems. The issue boils down to how large are the costs of different payment media, which can be interpreted as a question of the efficiency of the means of payment.

Intrinsic Mechanical Parameters and their Characterization in Solid‐State Lithium Batteries
This review focuses on the intrinsic mechanical parameters and their associated characterization in solid‐state batteries. The physical significance of mechanics parameters is introduced with exhaustive classifications by elastic, plastic deformations and fracture in bulk, adhesion, friction at interfaces, and mechanical fatigue in cells ...
