Control of light transmission through opaque scattering media in space and time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report the first experimental demonstration of combined spatial and temporal control of light trajectories through opaque media. This control is achieved by solely manipulating spatial degrees of freedom of the incident wavefront.

Vibrational Analysis of a Splash Cymbal by Experimental Measurements and Parametric CAD-FEM Simulations

open access: yesVibration
The present study encompasses a thorough analysis of the vibrations in a splash musical cymbal. The analysis is performed using a hybrid methodology that combines experimental measurements with parametric computer-aided design and finite element method ...

Application of the DIC Technique to Remote Control of the Hydraulic Load System

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Displacements or deformations of materials or structures are measured with linear variable differential transducers (LVDT), fibre optic sensors, laser sensors, and confocal sensor systems, while strains are measured with electro-resistant tensometers or ...

Granularité laser et interférences de speckles [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin de l'Union des Physiciens 101, 899(1) (2007) 1101-1121, 2009
In this paper we introduce experimentally the phenomenon of speckle and its interferometric applications. With the popularization of CCD sensors and webcams, it is now easy to acquire speckles patterns, to reduce them and exploit them. The material used here is what we could find easily in high schools.

Broad Adaptability of Coronavirus Adhesion Revealed from the Complementary Surface Affinity of Membrane and Spikes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 41, November 6, 2024.
The affinity of TGEV coronavirus and its adsorption energy on different surfaces is measured by Langmuir isotherms obtained from large AFM images and individual virus profiles. Substantial adsorption‐free energy ΔG is found in all surfaces, however, in contrast with vesicle adsorption, the virus deformation and ΔG are not strongly correlated.

Residual Stress Measurement by Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The existence of residual stresses affects both safety and lifetime. Thus the determination of these stresses is very important. The ESPI (Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) and Hole- Drilling combined method seems to be an appropriate technique ...

Topological transformations of speckles

open access: yes, 2019
Deterministic control of coherent random light is highly important for information transmission through complex media. However, only a few simple speckle transformations can be achieved through diffusers without prior characterization. As recently shown,

Measurement of residual stresses with optical techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The goal of this work was the development of other experimental techniques to measure residual stresses, as an alternative to the hole-drilling method with strain gauges.

Cálculo de la incertidumbre estándar mediante la técnica de Monte Carlo para la medición de la topografía y del campo de desplazamiento mediante ESPI

open access: yesNova Scientia, 2014
La ventaja del uso de las técnicas interferométricas basados en el patrón de moteado ESPI (electronic speckle pattern interferometry) es única ya que se pueden hacer mediciones muy precisas de los campos de desplazamientos que ocurren en la superficie de
