Experimental investigation on the concrete fracture process zone using electronic speckle pattern interferometry

Strain, 2021
In order to advance the understanding of fracture failure mechanisms in concrete, a series of three‐point bend tests of pre‐notched specimens were conducted to study the characteristics of the fracture process zone.

High-speed electronic speckle pattern interferometry for analysis of thermo-mechanical behavior of electronic components

Optical Metrology, 2021
The electronics industry is creating complex miniaturized devices with steadily higher power density. The increase of maximum operating temperatures affects the thermo-mechanical load and imposes greater requirements on the quality of electronic packages.

Analysis of Fatigue of Metals by Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry

2014
Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI) was applied to analysis of the fatigue of metals. The deformation behavior of stainless steel sheet specimen during high-cyclic fatigue tests was dynamically observed by ESPI. The effect of fatigue progress on the deformation behaviors was discussed by evaluating the change in the ESPI fringe pattern ...

Hooke’s law experiment using an electronic speckle pattern interferometry

European journal of physics, 2020
This paper presents an approach based on a laser interferometer set-up to perform an experimental study of Hooke’s law for the case of the bending of a cantilever beam.

Phase stepping through polarizing modulation in electronic speckle pattern interferometry.

Applied Optics, 2020
We have demonstrated a speckle out-of-plane interferometer that employs phase-stepping procedures by means of polarization modulation. The system generates circular polarization states with opposite signs at each arm of the system, which overlap at the ...

Electronic speckle pattern interferometry [PDF]

open access: possiblePhysics in Technology, 1980
Historically, the concept of replacing the photographic emulsion by video recording and display occured to several independent groups almost simultanously. Macovsky(1) in USA, Schwomma(2) in Austria and Kopf(3) in West-Germany considered the technique to be based on pure holography.

Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry of the Vibrating Larynx

Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1995
Laser holography is a technique that creates a three-dimensional image of a static object. This technique can be applied to the analysis of vibrating structures. Electronic speckle pattern interferometry uses a laser for illumination of the vibrating object and solid state detectors and digital hardware technology for capturing and processing the ...

Improvements on Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry [PDF]

open access: possible, 1987
Fibre optics and synchronized amplitude and phase illuminating pulse modulation, controlled by microprocessor, are combined to improve performance and capabilities of measurements with E.S.P.I.. Cosmetic and resolution betterment of specklegrams is achieved while at the same time it is possible to design a portable and compact set-up, insensitive to ...

Multiplicative electronic speckle-pattern interferometry fringes

Applied Optics, 2000
A theoretical analysis of fringe patterns and its experimental corroboration obtained by multiplication of two speckled images with electronic speckle-pattern interferometry (ESPI) are reported. A specifically designed digital filter is used to enhance the contrast and visibility of the inherently noisy multiplication fringes.
