Electronic Speed Control for the Beckman Model E Analytical Centrifuge

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1969
A speed control has been designed for the Beckman model E analytical centrifuge which employs as the velocity transducer a photoelectric pickoff and a digital counter. The controller regularly gives a short term stability of one part in 20 000 and a long term stability (24 h) of one part in 10 000 at rotor speeds greater than 15 000 rpm.

High-speed direct model predictive control for power electronics

2016 European Control Conference (ECC), 2016
Common approaches for direct model predictive control (MPC) for current reference tracking in power electronics suffer from the high computational complexity encountered when solving integer optimal control problems over long prediction horizons. We propose an efficient alternative method based on approximate dynamic programming, greatly reducing the ...

Research on fuzzy PID control to electronic speed regulator

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
As an important part of diesel engine, the speed regulator plays an important role in stabilizing speed and improving engine's performance. Because there are so many model parameters of diesel-engine considered in traditional PID control and these parameters present non-linear characteristic. The method to adjust engine speed using traditional PID is

Automatic column control for high speed electron beam delineator

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics Processing and Phenomena, 1985
An automatic column control system has been developed for practical usage in a high speed electron beam delineator. Direct digital control is used for processing complex VSB column adjustments, such as beam alignments, lens current adjustments, and astigmatism correction.

Light-speed optical control with nano-opto-electronic device

2007 IEEE 20th International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), 2007
This paper presents the design, fabrication and measurement results of a nano-photonic bandgap crystal (PhC) integrated circuit device. The PhC comprises of orthogonally intersecting single line defect Bragg reflection waveguides, partially reflecting PhC mirrors and a small volume optical resonator.

Efficient electronic speed controller algorithm for multirotor flying vehicles

2018 Innovative Materials and Technologies in Electrical Engineering (i-MITEL), 2018
The majority of MR (multirotor) UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) platforms consist of a BLDC (brushless direct current) motors, because of their robustness and high rotation speed capabilities. The ESC's (electronic speed controllers) driving the motors are produced as cost/component efficient inverters. They are motor ambiguous, meaning they should work

Low-Cost Electronic-Controlled Variable-Speed Reluctance Motors

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1987
This paper describes the design features, drive circuits, and performance of single-phase switched reluctance motors (SRM's) for low-power variable-speed drives. The main advantages of these motors lie in their simple robust construction, simple control circuitry, and low manufacturing cost.

Low-cost electronic speed controller for induction motors

Electronics and Power, 1975
There are three basic methods available for the speed control of induction motors. One of these—the variation of the supply frequency—is probably the most versatile method.

Intelligent electronic control system for high-speed film cameras

SPIE Proceedings, 1993
A new electronic control system provides intelligent (computer) control features for high speed film cameras. This system incorporates the most significant advances made since the advent of analog servo controls in high speed cameras a generation ago.

Enhanced Application and Emission Control Possibilities With Electronically Controlled Low Speed Diesels

ASME 2004 Internal Combustion Engine Division Fall Technical Conference, 2004
Two-stroke low speed diesels dominate the main propulsion engine market, being selected for nearly 80% of all ocean-going vessels. The main reason is the simplicity of the direct-coupled installation, the high reliability and the high thermal efficiencies.
