Electronic States in Nanowires with Hexagonal Cross-Section [PDF]

open access: yesSemiconductors, 2020
The electron spectrum in a uniform nanowire with a hexagonal cross-section is calculated by means of a numerical diagonalization of the effective-mass Hamiltonian. Two basis sets are utilized. The wave-functions of low-lying states are calculated and visualized.

Cross sections and oscillator strengths for electron-impact excitation of the ÃB11 electronic state of water [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2007
The authors report absolute differential and integral cross section measurements for electron-impact excitation of the ÃB11 electronic state of water. This is an important channel for the production of the OH (X̃Π2) radical, as well as for understanding the origin of the atmospheric Meinel [Astrophys. J. 111, 555 (1950)] bands.

Cross Sections for Photoionization from Valence-Electron States [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1958
In order to study recombination processes in gaseous nebulae, one requires the coefficients for radiative recombination to many excited states of neutral atoms and positive ions. These may be calculated as functions of electron temperature once the corresponding photoionization cross sections are known.

Cross sections for electron impact excitation of the low-lying electron states of CO2 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics, 1983
Distorted-wave cross sections for the excitation of eight low-lying excited states (1,3 Sigma u+, 1,3 Pi g, 1,3 Pi u and 1,3 Delta u) of CO2 by electrons in the 25 to 60 eV energy range are presented. The authors report both differential and integral cross sections.

Effect of temperature on rate of the spin-forbidden transition in uracil and thymine [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2013
The intersystem crossing rates of uracil and thymine molecules in interaction with the heat bath were studied by means of the ab initio methods. The rates were calculated employing the time-dependent approach based on the correlation function.

Cross sections for electron impact excitation of the vibrationally resolved AΠ1 electronic state of carbon monoxide [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2007
The authors report new differential cross section measurements for electron impact excitation of the AΠ1(v′) states of carbon monoxide. The energy range is 20–200eV. They also reanalyze the AΠ1(v′) manifold cross sections of Middleton et al. [J. Phys.
