Privacy issues in an electronic voting machine [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2004 ACM workshop on Privacy in the electronic society, 2004
In this paper, we describe the Open Voting Consortium's voting system and discuss the privacy issues inherent in this system. By extension, many of the privacy issues in this paper also apply to other electronic voting machines, such as DREs(Direct Recording Electronic voting machines).

High‐Throughput Data Generation and Transfer Learning Enabled Microstructure‐Property Integrated Design of Nickel‐Based Powder Metallurgy Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated transfer learning framework integrates CALPHAD simulations, diffusion‐multiple experiments, and literature data to predict long‐term microstructural stability and short‐term mechanical properties of Ni‐based powder metallurgy superalloys. Based on these model predictions, a high‐performance, low‐density alloy, USTB‐PM750, is designed from

Mechanism‐Informed Machine Learning Enables Discovery of Oncolytic Peptides for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MISPOP integrates ensemble learning with membrane‐active physicochemical priors to identify Dermaseptin‐S9, a natural oncolytic peptide that disrupts tumor membranes, triggers immunogenic cell death, and shows strong antitumor activity. The study illustrates a mechanism‐informed route from peptide sequence data to cancer immunotherapy leads.

Hybrid-Voting: A Hybrid Structured Electronic Voting System

open access: yesCompanion Proceedings of the Web Conference 2020, 2020
Recent development of electronic voting (e-voting) systems has been focusing on blockchain-based design [4]. Despite blockchain’s advantages in public verifiability, existing blockchain-based voting systems are impractical due to the high block time and transaction costs of the underlying blockchain.

Single‐Cell Annotation and Localization via Integrating Spatial Transcriptomics Maps the Mouse Ocular Atlas and RAO Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed the ASCAL pipeline, integrating complementary spatial transcriptomics, to construct a high‐fidelity mouse whole‐eye single‐cell atlas. Applying ASCAL to a retinal artery occlusion (RAO) model revealed spatially restricted immune activation localized to the ganglion cell layer and the selective depletion of a translationally active, outer ...

Trustworthy Electronic Voting Using Adjusted Blockchain Technology

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The electronic voting has emerged over time as a replacement to the paper-based voting to reduce the redundancies and inconsistencies. The historical perspective presented in the last two decades suggests that it has not been so successful due to the ...
