Longitudinal predictors of weapon involvement in middle adolescence: Evidence from the UK Millennium Cohort Study

open access: yesAggressive Behavior, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 5-14, January 2023., 2023
Abstract This study uses longitudinal data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study (N = 13,277) to examine the childhood and early adolescence factors that predict weapon involvement in middle adolescence, which in this study is exemplified by having carried or used a weapon.

Semi‐supervised classification of fundus images combined with CNN and GCN

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes, which is a kind of fundus lesion with specific changes. Early diagnosis of DR can effectively reduce the visual damage caused by DR. Due to the variety and different morphology of DR lesions, automatic classification of fundus images in mass screening can ...

A small footprint couch‐top support device for image‐guided radiotherapy of heavy patients

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Patients with body weights close to or above 400 lbs present unique challenges in radiation therapy since the weight limit of most treatment couches decreases as the couch‐top extends toward the treatment gantry. The purpose of this work was to develop a small footprint couch‐top support platform to safely perform image‐guided ...

Evaluation of patient doses for routine digital radiography procedures toward establishing an institutional diagnostic reference levels: A case study in Sri Lanka

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract The present study was conducted as part of a comprehensive work to establish National Diagnostic Reference Levels (NDRLs) in Sri Lanka for the first time. DRLs can be used as an effective optimization tool for identifying unusually high or low patient doses during X‐ray examinations.

Effect of Borophene and Graphene on the Elastic Modulus of PEDOT:PSS Film—A Finite Element Study

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2022
A finite element method (FEM) was employed to investigate the interaction of borophene nanoplatelets (BNPs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) on the mechanical properties of Poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) PEDOT:PSS film.

Pseudopotential for the electron-electron interaction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2015
We propose a pseudopotential for the electron-electron Coulomb interaction to improve the efficiency of many-body electronic structure calculations. The pseudopotential accurately replicates the scattering properties of the Coulomb interaction, and recovers the analytical solution for two electrons in a parabolic trap.

Concept of Short-Range Radar and Counter-Projectile for Detecting and Countering Armour-Piercing Projectiles [PDF]

open access: yesProblemy Mechatroniki, 2021
During warfare and acts of terrorism an extreme threat to vehicles and other high-value assets comes from armour-piercing projectiles. Under these conditions, defence systems should include devices capable of rapid detection of these threats.
