Automated Sleep Staging in Epilepsy Using Deep Learning on Standard Electroencephalogram and Wearable Data

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Automated sleep staging on wearable data could improve our understanding and management of epilepsy. This study evaluated sleep scoring by a deep learning model on 223 night‐sleep recordings from 50 patients measured in the hospital with an electroencephalogram (EEG) and a wearable device.

Temporal regularity effects on pre-attentive and attentive processing of deviance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Temporal regularity allows predicting the temporal locus of future information thereby potentially facilitating cognitive processing. We applied event-related brain potentials (ERPs) to investigate how temporal regularity impacts pre-attentive and ...

A Safe and Efficient Brain–Computer Interface Using Moving Object Trajectories and LED-Controlled Activation

open access: yesMicromachines
Nowadays, brain–computer interface (BCI) systems are frequently used to connect individuals who have lost their mobility with the outside world. These BCI systems enable individuals to control external devices using brain signals.

The Future of Parasomnias

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Parasomnias are abnormal behaviours or mental experiences during sleep or the sleep–wake transition. As disorders of arousal (DOA) or REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) can be difficult to capture in the sleep laboratory and may need to be diagnosed in large communities, new home diagnostic devices are being developed, including actigraphy ...

Voluntary presetting of the vestibular ocular reflex permits gaze stabilization despite perturbation of fast head movements [PDF]

open access: yes
Normal subjects are able to change voluntarily and continuously their head-eye latency together with their compensatory eye movement gain. A continuous spectrum of intent-latency modes of the subject's coordinated gaze through verbal feedback could be ...

Effects of Olfactory Learning Context Reactivation During Sleep on Training Success in a Double‐Blind Randomized Controlled Sensorimotor Rhythm Neurofeedback Protocol: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 62, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Neurofeedback training (NFT) is used to modulate brain activity for therapeutic purposes in different patient populations. However, tested training protocols vary in several aspects, and the results of therapeutic benefit have been heterogeneous.

MANAGEMENT OF CONSUMERS’ ATTENTION – WHAT CAN THE ADVERTISER DO TO SURVIVE THE MEDIA REVOLUTION [PDF]

open access: yes
I know half the money I spend on advertising is wasted, I just don’t know which half joked John Wanamaker, who created the first department store in 1876 [15]. In spite of the passageof time Wanamaker’s saying is still in force.
