Abstract Electroosmosis is measured of wool yarn and fabric in equilibrium with aqueous buffer solutions. The electroosmotic flow vs. pH curve shows a minimum ascribed to fiber conductance. Approximate equations are developed to account for this effect. Transport of water through the fibers is estimated to be negligible.

ELECTROPHORESIS, 1990AbstractThe influence of convection on the structure of an isotachophoretic boundary is investigated using an asymptotic method to simplify the conservation equations. To illustrate the methodology it is applied to a simple strong electrolyte system consisting of three ions and the relevant equations solved numerically.
