Comparison of Alcohol Electrooxidation on Pt and Pd Electrodes in Alkaline Medium
Here, we have compared the activity of alcohol electrooxidation on Pt and Pd electrodes. Ethanol and isopropanol can be more easily electrochemically oxidized than other alcohol on the both Pt and Pd electrodes.

Selective Toluene Electrooxidation to Benzyl Alcohol. [PDF]
We report a novel electrocatalytic approach that couples water oxidation with toluene oxidation in wet DMF or DMSO electrolyte. Electrocatalytic oxidation of water, a sustainable oxygen atom source, favored hydroxyl (·̇OH) radical formation over hydrogen peroxide and oxygen evolution because the organic solvent molecules suppressed O-O bond formation ...

Study of the Electrooxidation of a Zinc Concentrate [PDF]
Zinc has wide industrial applications; consequently, its extraction procedures have been extensively studied. Hydrometallurgy is one of the most common methods employed for zinc recovery. However, the electrooxidation of sphalerite and the effect of the pyrite content in the concentrate have not been investigated; thus, in this work, zinc recovery from

Boosting urea electrooxidation on oxyanion-engineered nickel sites via inhibited water oxidation
Renewable energy-based electrocatalytic oxidation of organic nucleophiles (e.g.methanol, urea, and amine) are more thermodynamically favourable and, economically attractive to replace conventional pure water electrooxidation in electrolyser to produce ...

Raw biomass electroreforming coupled to green hydrogen generation
The scale-up of the coupling of water electroreduction (HER) with organic electrooxidation remains challenging. Here the authors address this challenge by coupling HER with electrooxidation of raw biomass chitin, cogenerating acetate and green hydrogen ...

Lignin-Assisted Water Electrolysis for Energy-Saving Hydrogen Production With Ti/PbO2 as the Anode
Replacing the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), which is of high energy consumption and slow kinetics, with the more thermodynamically favorable reaction at the anode can reduce the electricity consumption for hydrogen production.

Effect of Anode Material on Electrochemical Oxidation of Low Molecular Weight Alcohols—A Review
The growing climate crisis inspires one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century—developing novel power sources. One of the concepts that offer clean, non-fossil electricity production is fuel cells, especially when the role of fuel is played by ...

Electrochemical formal homocoupling of sec-alcohols
Electrochemical pinacol coupling of carbonyl compounds in an undivided cell with a sacrificial anode would be a promising approach toward synthetically valuable vic-1,2-diol scaffolds without using low-valent metal reductants. However, sacrificial anodes
