Electrooxidation of Propylene to Acrolein

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2018
Short chain alkanes and alkenes (C1-4) typically have little economic value and are difficult to transport since they are gases. Because of this, these hydrocarbons are of so low value that they are often flared during extraction of oil.1 This talk investigates electrochemically partially oxidizing these materials to high-value liquid products, thus ...

Electrooxidation of 2-arylfurans

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1981
Electrochemical methoxylation of 2-phenylfuran (I) and 2-(4-nitrophenyl)furan (VI) proceeded anomalously, affording 5-methoxy-2-phenylfuran (XI) and 5-methoxy-2-(4-nitrophenyl)furan (XIII), respectively. 2-Phenyl-5-methylfuran (II) and methyl-2-(2-methylphenyl)-3-furoate (VIII) behaved normally giving the respective 2,5-dimethoxy-2,5-dihydrofuran ...

Electrooxidation of N-methylindole

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions, 1998
The electrooxidation of N-methylindole (1-methylindole) results in the formation of soluble oligomers. Fluorescence spectroscopy and mass spectrometry indicate that the major product of this reaction is an asymmetric cyclic trimer, which is also shown to undergo a reversible one-electron redox reaction.

Electrooxidized ZnO Nanoparticles

Current Nanoscience, 2013
In this research, ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using electrooxidation method for the first time. This method is based on electrooxidation of zinc in the presence of an amine which acts as a supporting electrolyte and electrostatic stabilizer.

Electrooxidation of tigogenin acetate

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2007
Electrooxidation of tigogenin acetate afforded two products: 3b-acetoxy-16b-hydroxy-23,24-dinor-5a-cholanoic acid lactone (2) and 20-epitigogenin acetate (3). The structure of the latter compound was confirmed by an X-ray analysis. The tentative mechanism of reac- tion is proposed. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Spectroscopic Study on Nitrogen Electrooxidation to Nitrate

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2023
AbstractAs a potential substitute technique for conventional nitrate production, electrocatalytic nitrogen oxidation reaction (NOR) is gaining more and more attention. But, the pathway of this reaction is still unknown owing to the lack of understanding on key reaction intermediates.

Silver nanoparticles electrooxidation: theory and experiment

Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry, 2011
This article presents the findings of microscopic and electrochemical studies of electrooxidation of silver nanoparticles of varying sizes in comparison with "bulk" silver. Silver particles were immobilized on the surface of indifferent carbon-containing screen-printed electrodes. Vacuum-deposited silver represented the "bulk" electrode.

Shrinking Nanowires by Kinetically Controlled Electrooxidation

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2005
Nanowires composed of antimony, gold, and bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) were reduced in diameter by electrooxidation in aqueous solutions. When electrooxidation was carried out using low current densities (Jox < 150 microA cm(-2)), the mean wire diameter decreased in direct proportion to the oxidation time, as expected for a kinetically controlled process.
