NATURE OF PROTEINS IN TRITICALE AND ITS PARENTAL SPECIES: II. GEL FILTRATION AND DISC ELECTROPHORESIS RESULTS

, 1970
The compositions and identity of protein components in the water, salt solution, 70% ethanol, and acetic acid solution extracts of the endosperm from one line of Triticale, its parents, and one cultivar of hard red spring wheat were investigated by gel ...

Thyroid hormone increases type I adenosine 3', 5'-monophosphate-dependent protein kinase and casein kinase activities in rat liver cytosol: analysis of protein kinases by polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis.

Endocrinology, 1983
We investigated the action of thyroid hormone on each protein kinase in rat liver cytosol. Kinases were analyzed by polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing in polyacrylamide gel.

Disc electrophoresis of lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1970
Abstract The original method of disc electrophoresis permitted the localization of only 4 of the 5 lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes. Conjecture as to the location of one of these is now settled in that it is demonstrated that the lactate dehydrogenase-5 does not migrate through the stacking gel. This was shown for human serum and liver.

An investigation of serum lipoprotein disc electrophoresis. II. A simple method of human serum lipoprotein disc electrophoresis and identification of the resolved lipoproteins.

Japanese circulation journal, 1972
An integrated and simplified method for acrylamide gel Disc electrophoresis was devised in this study based on results obtained by the previous study where general behavior of human serum lipoproteins in various acrylamide gel systems was investigated ...

A CONVENIENT APPARATUS FOR ANALYTICAL DISC ELECTROPHORESIS

Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1966
SummaryA modified apparatus for analytical disc electrophoresis is described. The electrophoresis tubes are sealed into a glass plate to form a single unit which considerably simplifies the preparation and running of the acrylamide gels.

Studies in the Hordeum murinum L. aggregate: disc electrophoresis of seed proteins

, 1978
Seeds of the H. murinum aggregate were collected from much of the range of the group and soluble protein extracts were subject to gel-electrophoresis analysis. Diploid, tetraploid and hexaploid plants were readily differentiated.

Disc electrophoresis of mycobacterial sensitins.

The American review of respiratory disease, 1969
A cell extract of Mycobacterium kansasii was subjected to polyacrylamide electrophoresis. At least ten bands could be distinguished and four major zones were separated. Chemical analysis and enzymatic degradation of the material eluted from the four major zones indicated that skin-test activity was correlated with polysaccharide, possibly in associa ...

Disc electrophoresis of glycoproteins in snake venoms

Toxicon, 1970
Abstract Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was used to qualitatively separate venom glycoproteins from several species of snakes found in the families Crotalidae and Elapidae. Several staining techniques were compared after electrophoresis was carried out at either high or low pH with variations in the concentration of acrylamide in the separation ...

Characterization of equine alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes based on their electrophoretic mobility by polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis.

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1980
Alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes of equine tissues, peritoneal fluid, and serum were characterized by their electrophoretic mobilities, using polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis.

Disc Gel Electrophoresis of Histones and Protamines

Biochemical Education, 1976
A biochemistry laboratory experiment is described for the purification of chromatin followed by isolation of protamines from salmon and histones from starfish. The experiment illustrates the commonly used technique of disc gel electrophoresis for the characterization of proteins and shows the effect of changing sulfur chemistry on the migration of ...
