PURIFICATION AND PROPERTIES OF AN EXTRACELLULAR PROTEASE PRODUCED BY PENICIUIUM EXPANSUM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 1995
Penicilliurn expamum grown in a medium with rice husk as a carbon source produced an extracellular protease. The protease enzyme was isolated from culture broth by fractionation with acetone and column chromatography on Sephadex G- 100 and DEAE A-50. The

Harnessing Non‐Covalent Protein–Protein Interaction Domains for Production of Biocatalytic Materials Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Non‐covalent protein–protein interactions mediated by SH3, PDZ, or GBD domains enable the self‐assembly of stable and biocatalytically active hydrogel materials. These soft materials can be processed into monodisperse foams that, once dried, exhibit enhanced mechanical stability and activity and are easily integrated into microstructured flow ...

Multifunctional, Flexible and Interactive PVDF Fibers with Tunable Conductivity via CNT Coatings for Sensing and Smart Textile Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step fabrication strategy combines electrospinning with electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotubes to produce conductive, porous PVDF fiber mats. These flexible composites serve as multifunctional sensors, capable of detecting pressure, motion, respiration, and temperature.

Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

Unraveling the Heterogeneity of Cargo Distribution in the Exogenous Association of Proteins With Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Incidence of plasmid and antibiotic resistance in psychrotrophic bacteria isolated from Antarctic sponges

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2011
A total of 297 bacterial strains were isolated from five Antarctic sponge species and tested by agarose gel electrophoresis for the presence of plasmid molecules. At least one kind of plasmid was carried by 69 isolates (about 23%).

Rapid Deep Vat Printing Using Photoclickable Collagen‐Based Bioresins

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Collagen‐based resin formulations based on thiol‐ene photoclick chemistry are demonstrated. These resins enable easy handleability under neutral conditions and further allow facile fabrication of multicellular tissue constructs via tomographic or FLight printing.
