Assessment of the Prevalence and Drug Susceptibility of Listeria monocytogenes Strains Isolated from Various Types of Meat

open access: yesFoods, 2020
Listeria monocytogenes are the etiological factor of listeriosis, and their main source for humans is food. The aim of the current study was to assess the contamination of various types of meat and the drug susceptibility of isolated L.

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.

Characterization of Knots and Links Arising From Site-specific Recombination on Twist Knots

open access: yes, 2011
We develop a model characterizing all possible knots and links arising from recombination starting with a twist knot substrate, extending previous work of Buck and Flapan. We show that all knot or link products fall into three well-understood families of

Oral Dosed Organo‐Silica Nanoparticles Restore Glucose Homeostasis and β‐Cell Function in Diabetes Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An oral nanoplatform, MOP@T@D, which can maintain glucose homeostasis and restore islet β cells in diabetic rats is developed. It achieves efficient intestinal absorption and liver‐targeted delivery. The nanoparticle disintegrates only in response to hyperglycemia to release insulin on demand and provides antioxidant protection through selenoprotein ...

Redox-active ferrocene-modified Cowpea mosaic virus nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A naturally occurring nanoparticle, the plant virus Cowpea mosaic virus, can be decorated with ferrocene derivatives, of various linker lengths with amine and carboxylategroups, on the external surface using a range of conjugation strategies.

A Single‐Metal‐Doped Nanoplatform for Ferroptosis‐Driven cGAS‐STING Pathway Activation in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The cGAS‐STING pathway boosts HCC antitumor immunity but lacks specific activation. Nanoplatform ZMRPF induces HCC ferroptosis via lipid ROS, releasing mtDNA. It synergizes with ZMRPF‐released Mn2⁺ to activate cGAS‐STING, amplifies antigen‐presenting cell activity, reverses HCC immunosuppression, and enables robust systemic antitumor immunity ...

Synthetic Nanobiology Actuated Lipometabolic Cell Factory for Autologous Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
FA plays a crucial role in the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment, especially for the immune response. A biocatalytic immunoenhancement strategy is developed to boost antitumor immunity by FA metabolic orientation to ceramide. Through the design of this delicate catalytic immunoenhancement strategy, the synthetic nanobiology

Measurement of apolipoprotein A-I in rat high density lipoprotein and in rat plasma by radioimmunoassay

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1976
A double antibody radioimmunoassay (RIA) for rat apolipoprotein A-I is reported. The ApoA-I isolated from delipidated HDL by gel filtration yielded a single band on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and its amino acid ...
