Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Experimental study of particle concentration under electric field

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
It is difficult to remove well dispersed fine particles from dilute slurry, because filtration and evaporation process requires a lot of time and energy. Electrophoresis is known as a method of moving fine particles.

Reporting two hemoglobin J Iran cases, molecular follow-up, or is it insignificant? [PDF]

open access: yesCaspian Journal of Internal Medicine, 2023
Background: Hemoglobin J is one of the fast hemoglobin that has a more negative charge due to β77His→Asp substitution. Acquisition of this hemoglobin is not associated with any specific clinical sign, but the combination of this hemoglobinopathy with ...

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.
