Noise on Nonimage Areas in Electrophotography
Applied Optics, 1974A statistical interpretation of human response to visual noise generated by toner particles deposited on background areas of electrophotographic copies is given. The constants of the theory are estimated from psychophysical measurements made on a set of noise samples.

Investigations into the Reliability of Electrophotography
1975Abstract : Investigations into corona-discharge photography show that subjects placed in a high-voltage field exhibit corona that may be recorded photographically. The corona formation and structure depend on the applied field strength and gradient, the type of film used and the waveform and the pulse repetition rate of the applied voltage.

Toner Adhesion in Electrophotography
1988The adhesion of electrophotographic toner to carrier and to photoconductor is commonly believed to be the result of electrostatic forces, van der Waals forces, or a combination of the two. We discuss the assumptions that are typically used and show that they are generally deficient.
