Electrophotographic Powder Application for Surface Functionalization of Polymer Parts with Thin Silver‐Nanoadditivated Bactericidal Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 10, May 22, 2025.
Polyamide 12 powder nanoadditivated with laser‐synthesized silver nanoparticles is deposited and sintered on polymer parts via EPA‐PBF‐LB/P. The thin surface coating (140 µm) inhibits E. coli and S. aureus bacteria growth and significantly increases the UV light absorption, whereas the mechanical and thermal properties remain unchanged due to minimal ...

Variable selection wrapper in presence of correlated input variables for random forest models

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 297-312, February 2024.
Abstract In most data analytic applications in manufacturing, understanding the data‐driven models plays a crucial role in complementing the engineering knowledge about the production process. Identifying relevant input variables, rather than only predicting the response through some “black‐box” model, is of great interest in many applications.

Natural dyeing of air plasma‐treated wool fabric with Rubia tinctorum L. and prediction of dyeing properties using an artificial neural network

open access: yesColoration Technology, Volume 140, Issue 1, Page 91-102, February 2024.
Abstract In this study, the ecological dyeing process of wool fabrics was investigated. Wool fabric samples were treated with atmospheric pressure plasma‐jet and corona discharge plasma to modify the surface to make the process sustainable and greener. The samples were dyed with the aqueous extract procured from the powdered roots of Rubia tinctorum L.

Clean Carrier Cores for Electrophotography [PDF]

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique IV, 1997
Most carrier cores for electrophotography are made from Cu-Zn or Ni-Zn ferrites. But in recent years, the use of these materials has been restricted by environmental regulations in many countries. In answer, we have developed clean carrier cores from environmentally friendly magnetic materials.
