Modulating Core Polarity in Metal-free Covalent Organic Frameworks for Selective Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Peroxide Production. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
The influence of intermolecular polarity in metal‐free covalent organic frameworks (COFs) on the selectivity of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) electroproduction is highlighted in this study. By rationally modulating the core‘s polarity of pyridine‐containing imine‐like COFs, we achieved 93.1 % selectivity and 90.5 % faradic efficiency for H2O2 production ...

Recent Progress of Electrochemical Production of Hydrogen Peroxide by Two-Electron Oxygen Reduction Reaction. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh), 2021
Electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) via 2e− pathway becomes increasingly crucial for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) generation. This work comprehensively reviews the recent works of 2e− ORR catalysts, in aspects of catalytic mechanism, types of catalysts, factors to influence catalytic performance and potential applications.

Identification of M-NH2 -NH2 Intermediate and Rate Determining Step for Nitrogen Reduction with Bioinspired Sulfur-Bonded FeW Catalyst. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl, 2021
Inspired by biological nitrogenases, a bimetallic sulfide material (FeWSx@FeWO4) was synthesized for a highly efficient N2 reduction (NRR) catalyst. In situ Raman spectra and hydrazine reduction kinetics analysis revealed that the reduction of undissociated hydrazine intermediates (M‐NH2‐NH2) on the surface of the catalyst is the rate‐determing step ...

Coupling Ni Single Atomic Sites with Metallic Aggregates at Adjacent Geometry on Carbon Support for Efficient Hydrogen Peroxide Electrosynthesis. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
A new type of electrocatalyst with precisely controlled active centers of synergetic adjacent Ni─N4S single sites and crystalline Ni nanoparticles exhibits a high H2O2 selectivity over 92.7% within a wide potential range (maximum selectivity can reach 98.4%) by oxygen reduction reaction, which demonstrates an excellent candidate for practical H2O2 ...

Boosting the O2-to-H2O2 Selectivity Using Sn-Doped Carbon Electrocatalysts: Towards Highly Efficient Cathodes for Actual Water Decontamination. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
Low‐cost mesoporous SnC nanoparticles synthesized through a simple pyrolysis procedure are proven as highly selective electrocatalysts for two‐electron O2 reduction to H2O2. This has been validated by manufacturing a gas‐diffusion electrode (GDE) that continuously produces H2O2, which serves to degrade organic pollutants as an application to advanced ...

Backward-Angle (u-Channel) Meson Production from JLab 12~GeV Hall C to EIC

open access: yesSciPost Physics Proceedings, 2022
The recent exclusive backward-angle electroproduction of omega from Jefferson Lab Hall C electron-proton fixed-target scattering experiments above the resonance region hints at a new domain of applicability of QCD factorization in a unique u-channel ...

Kinematical effects in electroproduction of hypernuclei [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
On the example of electroproduction of 12ΛB we show effects in the cross section caused by various choices of the momentum of the initial proton. We have found that the effects are quite noticeable, mainly for small kaon angles.

Photophysical and Electrochemical Properties of Newly Synthesized Stilbazolium Dyes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 9, Issue 24, December 27, 2022., 2022
New stilbazolium dyes are synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical methods. The estimated values of the optical band‐gap and HOMO‐LUMO energy levels show that the hydroxyl group at the fourth position in the donor moiety possesses a stronger electron‐donating effect than that at the second position, while the dimethylamino ...

Expanding Nuclear Physics Horizons with the Gamma Factory

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 534, Issue 3, March 2022., 2022
The Gamma Factory is an ambitious proposal for a source of photons with energies up to hundreds of MeV and photon fluxes exceeding those of the currently available gamma sources by orders of magnitude. The paper surveys the new opportunities in nuclear physics and related fields that may be afforded by the this facility. Abstract The Gamma Factory (GF)
