Soft pneumatic gripper integrated with multi‐configuration and variable‐stiffness functionality
Soft grippers are compliant and self‐adaptive, and can be highly compatible with the surrounding environment in grasping tasks. Currently, most soft pneumatic grippers are developed with a single grasping configuration, which leads to poor universality ...

Bio-Inspired Soft Grippers Based on Impactive Gripping. [PDF]
According to movement ways and the classification model inspired by biological “grippers”, the soft grippers are divided into three types: non‐continuum bending‐type grippers, continuum bending‐type grippers, and continuum twisting‐type grippers. For each type of gripper, material properties, device architectures, and manipulation strategies are ...

Phase transition in electrorheological plasmas
Abstract Applying an external electric AC field to a dusty plasma, the micro‐particles arrange in strings or chains. In analogy to electrorheological fluids, such a system is called electrorheological plasma. Turning gradually the AC field into a DC field, the string formation is diminished until it vanishes completely in the DC case.

Physical aspects of dust–plasma interactions
Abstract Low‐pressure gas discharge plasmas are known to be strongly affected by the presence of small dust particles. This issue plays a role in the investigations of dust particle‐forming plasmas, where the dust‐induced instabilities may affect the properties of synthesized dust particles. Also, gas discharges with large amounts of microparticles are

Electrorheological polishing performance of cerium-doped titanium dioxide particles
Electrorheological (ER) polishing as a new type of polishing technique has flexibility and controllability. However, ER polishing cannot be widely used in actual processing because the present ER polishing fluid is usually prepared by simple mixing ...

Influence of the Polarity of the Electric Field on Electrorheometry [PDF]
Uniaxial extensional flow is a canonical flow typically used in rheological characterization to provide complementary information to that obtained by imposing simple shear flow.
