Introduction of Electrospinning [PDF]
In the past two decades, electrospinning, as a novel and simple synthesis method for one-dimensional nanostructures, has attracted immensely attentions. During the electrospinning process, electric field force acts on the polymer solution or melt to form the electrospun jet.

AbstractSummary: An electrospun nonwoven fabric of a cationic polysaccharide, chitosan, was successfully prepared. The present study focuses on the effect of the electrospinning solvent and the chitosan concentration on the morphology of the resulting nonwoven fabrics. The solvents tested were dilute hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, neat formic acid and

Nanofibers of LiMn2O4 by electrospinning
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005Through sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique, extrathin fibers of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/lithium chloride/manganese acetate composite fibers were prepared. After calcination of the above precursor fibers at 600 degrees C, the spinel lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4) nanofibers, with a diameter of 100-200 nm, were successfully obtained ...

Formation of fibers by electrospinning
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2007Electrostatic fiber formation, also known as "electrospinning", has emerged in recent years as the popular choice for producing continuous threads, fiber arrays and nonwoven fabrics with fiber diameters below 1 microm for a wide range of materials, from biopolymers to ceramics. It benefits from ease of implementation and generality of use.

Electrospinning-Based Nanobiosensors
2015Biological interactions in biosensors occur through different mechanisms, on the basis of the type of biological receptor elements employed therein that confer the biological specificity to the biosensors themselves (biocatalytic, biocomplexing or bioaffinity biosensors).

Coaxial electrospinning and emulsion electrospinning of core–shell fibers
Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2010AbstractThe mini‐review is devoted to coaxial electrospinning (co‐electrospinning, emulsion electrospinning), a group of novel methods for making core–shell nanofibers and hollow nanotubes. The physical aspects of the process are described in brief, in particular, its modeling and possible drawbacks of the process resulting in formation of fibers ...

Polysulfone nanofibers prepared by electrospinning and gas/jet-electrospinning
Frontiers of Chemistry in China, 2006Polysulfone nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning. The electrospinning equipment was designed in a new way, wherein the spinneret was combined with a gas jet device. The intrinsic viscosity of the used polysulfone was 0.197 dL/g in dimethyl acetamide, which was also the solvent in electrospinning.
