Redefining Separator Design and Water Activity for High‐Energy Zinc Batteries Using Covalent Organic Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 17, 20 March 2026.
Device‐level zinc batteries are energy‐limited by the mass/volume of inactive components, while lean‐electrolyte operation triggers interfacial water depletion and unstable kinetics. Here we elucidate lean‐failure mechanisms and develop a COF@PAN functional separator that regulates hydrogen‐bonding networks to manage water activity and accelerate ...

Tunable Sensitivity in PAN/CNF/PEDOT:PSS Nanofiber‐Based Piezocapacitive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 6, 16 March 2026.
This study demonstrates highly tunable, flexible pressure sensors made from a nanofibrous composite of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and carbon nanofibers (CNF) or poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS). By adjusting filler type, concentration, and mat thickness, the sensors achieve large sensitivity improvements, stable ...

Highly Aligned, Post‐Drawn Electrospun Nanofiber Yarns Fabricated via a Parallel‐Track System for Suture Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
Highly aligned nanofiber yarns are fabricated using a parallel‐track electrospinning system with post‐drawing prior to deposition. This approach enables continuous production of nanoyarns with controlled alignment and enhanced mechanical properties. Mechanical performance, degradation behavior, and suture‐relevant handling characteristics are evaluated,

Upcycling Brewers' Spent Grain Into High‐Performance Protein Nanofibers for Sustainable Non‐Woven Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
A common brewing by‐product is transformed into fine, flexible fibers using a simple spinning process, pointing to a new route for turning waste into useful materials. The study shows how gentle post‐treatments make these fibers far more robust in everyday conditions, opening the door to sustainable fabrics and functional nonwovens.
