Light‐Controlled Reversible Coassembly of Hybrid Functional Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐responsive hybrid nanostructures are formed by coassembling azobenzene‐ and PAH‐functionalized nanoparticles through reversible an tunable π interactions. The system enables tunable coupling between distinct components such as gold and magnetite or carbon nanotubes, producing switchable optical and magnetic properties under light and magnetic ...

Micropatterned Biphasic Printed Electrodes for High‐Fidelity on‐Skin Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micropatterned biphasic printed electrodes achieve unprecedented skin conformity and low impedance by combining liquid‐metal droplets with microstructured 3D lattices. This scalable approach enables high‐fidelity detection of ECG, EMG, and EEG signals, including alpha rhythms from the forehead, with long‐term comfort and stability.

Compliment Graphene Oxide Coating on Silk Fiber Surface via Electrostatic Force for Capacitive Humidity Sensor Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Cylindrical silk fiber (SF) was coated with Graphene oxide (GO) for capacitive humidity sensor applications. Negatively charged GO in the solution was attracted to the positively charged SF surface via electrostatic force without any help from adhesive ...

Surface potential and roughness controlled cell adhesion and collagen formation in electrospun PCL fibers for bone regeneration

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
Surface potential of biomaterials is a key factor regulating cell responses, driving their adhesion and signaling in tissue regeneration. In this study we compared the surface and zeta potential of smooth and porous electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL ...

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Guided assembly of nanoparticles on electrostatically charged nanocrystalline diamond thin films

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
We apply atomic force microscope for local electrostatic charging of oxygen-terminated nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) thin films deposited on silicon, to induce electrostatically driven self-assembly of colloidal alumina nanoparticles into micro-patterns.

CO2 Reduction on Copper‐Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Catalysts Tuned by Pulsed Potential Electrolysis: Effect of Pulse Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.

Effect of Sodium Alkane Sulfonate Addition on Tribological Properties of Emulsion for Cold Rolling Strips: Experimental and Simulation Investigations

open access: yesLubricants
Cold rolling emulsion contains a variety of functional additives, which often exhibit complex interactions with each other. Sodium alkane sulfonate (SAS) is a common corrosion inhibitor used in cold rolling emulsions for temporary rust prevention.

Cryo‐EM of Rationally Designed Photosystem I Nanoassembly on Graphene Validates Orientation‐Driven Enhancement of Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first cryo‐EM visualization and quantification of oriented Photosystem I (PSI) on single‐layer graphene is reported. Domain‐specific covalent anchoring of PSI, with the reducing side of the biophotocatalyst toward graphene, promotes three‐fold higher anodic photocurrent generation compared to a randomly physisorbed counterpart. This approach allows

Quantifying the evolution of atomic interaction of a complex surface with a functionalized atomic force microscopy tip

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Terminating the tip of an atomic force microscope with a CO molecule allows data to be acquired with a well-known and inert apex. Previous studies have shown conflicting results regarding the electrostatic interaction, indicating in some cases that the ...
