Electrosynthesis ofN-Methylisatin

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
Isatin in a solution of dry N,N-dimethylformamide/NaClO4 is electroreduced in the presence of CH3I. N-methylisatin (NMI) is obtained in quantitative molar yield and high current efficiency by controlled potential electrolysis (CPE). NMI and N-methylisatoic anhydride are the reaction products when CPE is performed in the absence of CH3I, but adding it ...

An electrosynthesis of sulphones

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1973
The cathodic reduction of SO2, dissolved in aprotic solvents, to the anion radical SO2− in the presence of organic halides RX results in the formation of organic sulphones R-SO2-R at appreciable current yields. With dihalides, polymeric sulphones or, as in the case ofo-xylylenedibromide, inner sulphinic esters (sultines) are formed, the latter being ...

Electrosynthesis of ammonia

Nature, 1985
Since Chatt and co-workers first reported that the protolysis of the dinitrogen complex cis-[W(N2)2(PMe2Ph)4] gives ammonia1, cis-[W(N2)2(PMe2Ph)4]H+→ 2NH3 + N2 + degradation products (1) there has existed the engaging possibility that a cyclic conversion of molecular nitrogen to ammonia might be achieved at room temperature and pressure using ...

Modeling Microbial Electrosynthesis

2017
Mathematical modeling is an overarching approach for assessing the complexity of microbial electrosynthesis (MES) and for complementing the relevant experimental research. By describing and linking compartments, components, and processes with appropriate mathematical equations, MES and the corresponding bioelectrodes and complete bioelectrochemical ...

Electrosynthesis of Protected Dehydroamino Acids

Organic Letters, 2023
A NaCl-mediated electrochemical oxidation of amino acid carbamates (R1 = Boc, Cbz) afforded α-methoxylated α-amino acids. Subsequent acid-catalyzed elimination delivered valuable dehydroamino acid derivatives. The simplicity of our setup using graphite-electrodes was showcased, producing N-Boc-ΔAla-OMe on a decagram scale.

Electrosynthesis of 1,2,4-Triazolium Tetrafluoroborates

Organic Letters, 2021
The synthesis of 1,2,4-triazolium tetrafluoroborates under electrochemical conditions is reported. The reaction is performed with stoichiometric amounts of HBF4, which converts starting materials to their corresponding cationic forms due to protonation.
