How to Experimentally Determine the Influence of the Weak Nuclear Force in Promoting Molecular Chirality via Heavy–Metal Promoted Autocatalytic Synthesis of Amino Acids

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 9, Issue 36, September 25, 2024.
An experimental test of the impact of the parity non‐conserving weak nuclear interaction on the chirality of a nascent chiral carbon center is proposed. It is shown that catalysis by heavy elements could yield observable chiral preferences within a time span of weeks to months when heavy metals are used to promote amino acid synthesis via an ...

Electroweak Strings, Zero Modes and Baryon Number

open access: yes, 1994
The Dirac equations for leptons and quarks in the background of an electroweak $Z-$string have zero mode solutions. If two loops of electroweak string are linked, the zero modes on one of the loops interacts with the other loop via an Aharanov-Bohm ...

Electroweak Interaction Model with an Undegenerate Double Symmetry

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2006
The initial P-invariance of the electroweak interaction Lagrangian together with the low-energy results of the Weinberg-Salam model is provided by a local secondary symmetry.

Some recent results for SU(3) and octonions within the geometric algebra approach to the fundamental forces of nature

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 1471-1491, February 2024.
Different ways of representing the group SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ within a Geometric Algebra approach are explored. As part of this, we consider characteristic multivectors for SU(3)$$ SU(3) $$ and how these are linked with decomposition of generators into commuting bivectors. The setting for this work is within a 6d Euclidean Clifford Algebra.

Measurements of W + W − production cross-sections in pp collisions at s = 13 $$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Measurements of W + W − → e ± νμ ∓ ν production cross-sections are presented, providing a test of the predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics and the electroweak theory. The measurements are based on data from pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$

Which EFT

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We classify effective field theory (EFT) deformations of the Standard Model (SM) according to the analyticity property of the Lagrangian as a function of the Higgs doublet H.

Limits on Dark Photons, Scalars, and Axion‐Electromagnetodynamics with the ORGAN Experiment

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 536, Issue 1, January 2024.
The nature of dark matter is one of the biggest mysteries in the Universe. ORGAN is an experiment which seeks to understand dark matter by figuring out what it is made of. In this article, the current sensitivity of ORGAN to various promising dark matter candidates is presented, and the future sensitivity is projected.

Primer on Axion Physics

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 536, Issue 1, January 2024.
A primer on axion physics, emphasizing an intuitive understanding of why the axion solves the strong CP problem. Abstract The canonical axion potential is reviewed, with an emphasis on the field theory underlying radial and angular modes of complex scalar fields.

Addressing the B-physics anomalies in a fundamental Composite Higgs model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
I present a model addressing coherently the naturalness problem of the electroweak scale and the observed pattern of deviations from the Standard Model in semileptonic decays of B mesons.
