Electroweak Interactions and Neutrinos

2016
In this chapter we discuss electroweak interactions from the phenomenological point of view, which is also more closely related to its historical development. Special emphasize will be put on neutrino physics since it plays an important role in high energy astroparticle physics as will be developed in detail in part IV.

The Standard Model of the Electroweak Interaction

2010
We will consider here the Glashow-Weinberg-Salam theory of the weak and electromagnetic interactions, which usually is called the Standard Model (SM). This theory is one of the greatest achievements of particle physics of the twentieth century. This theory predicted the existence of families of new particles (charmed, bottom, top), a new class of the ...

Electroweak Interactions on Toponium

1985
A heavy Q\(\bar Q\) resonance such as toponium can be a fascinating laboratory for the study of electroweak interactions. We describe the branching pattern of toponium decay, and discuss some special features connected with γ-Z interference, γ-Z-W interference, neutrino counting and single-quark decay.

Theory of the Electroweak Interactions

1991
In 1979, Mary K. Gaillard and I lectured here in Cargese about Quarks and Leptons, that is, about the Standard Theory and beyond. When I was asked to come back again this year, the question came to mind: what has happened since?

A vector model for electroweak interactions

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1985
In this paper we present a vector model for the electroweak interactions. The Cartan map gives an isomorphism between Dirac bispinors and an isotropic class of Yang–Mills vector fields. The isotropic Yang–Mills vector fields Fk =Ek +iHk with k=1,2,3, satisfy the condition that the matrix of scalar invariants (Fj ⋅Fk) equals a scalar multiple of the ...

3 The Standard Model of Electroweak Interactions

2008
In this chapter, we summarize the structure of the standard EW theory and specify the couplings of the intermediate vector bosons W±, Z and of the Higgs particle with the fermions and among themselves, as dictated by the gauge symmetry plus the observed matter content and the requirement of ...
