Electroweak Physics at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
With the high integrated luminosities recorded at the LHC and the very good understanding of the LHC detectors, it is possible to measure electroweak observables to the highest precision. In this talk, we review the measurement of the W boson mass by the

Constraining four-heavy-quark operators with top-quark, Higgs, and electroweak precision data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We establish constraints on the dimension-six four-heavy-quark operators in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) by synthesising LHC measurements of top-quark and single-Higgs production with electroweak precision observables.

Effective field theory of precision electroweak physics at one loop

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2013
The one loop effects of two dimension-six operators on gauge boson self energies are computed within an effective field theory framework. These self energies are translated into effects on precision electroweak observables, and bounds are obtained on the operator coefficients.

Precision Electroweak Tests of the Standard Model

open access: yes, 2004
The study of electron-positron collisions at LEP, together with additional measurements from other experiments, in particular those at SLC and at the Tevatron, has allowed for tests of the electroweak Standard Model with unprecedented accuracy. We review

Looking beyond the Standard Model through Precision Electroweak Physics [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics Supplement, 1996
The most important hint of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) from the 1995 precision electroweak data is that the most precisely measured quantities, the total, leptonic and hadronic decay widths of the $Z$ and the effective weak mixing angle, $\sin^2θ_W$, measured at LEP and SLC, and the quark-lepton universality of the weak charged currents ...

Electroweak Physics in the Forward Region

open access: yes, 2022
The lack of direct measurements of the so-called New Physics observables moves the attention of the high energy physics community towards the precise determination of the parameters that describe the electroweak sector of the Standard Model.

Future collider constraints on top-quark operators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper we present updated constraints on the top-quark sector of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory using data available from Tevatron, LEP and the LHC.

B anomalies under the lens of electroweak precision

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
The measurements carried out at LEP and SLC projected us into the precision era of electroweak physics. This has also been relevant in the theoretical interpretation of LHCb and Belle measurements of rare B semileptonic decays, paving the road for new ...

Indirect probes of new physics

open access: yes, 1996
We summarize the indirect effects of new physics in a variety of processes. We consider precision electroweak measurements, the g−2 of the muon, rare decays, meson mixing, CP violation, lepton number violating interactions, double beta decay, and the ...
